The annual Iyengar Yoga retreat will be held at Vikasa Retreat Centre in Koh Samui Thailand August 3rd-9th 2025

Vikasa

Vikasa is a designated venue for Yoga Retreats. It provides beautiful, luxurious, comfortable accommodation in the form of stand alone rooms. It has a restaurant which produces holistic, healthy mostly vegetarian food with some fish for those who want it. It has 4 Yoga Shalas with equipment suitable for small and large groups. They are located with impressive views of the ocean and have both fans and air conditioning.

It is situated on the beach and has its own private beach while being nestled in the jungle on the other 3 sides. It has an infinity pool, open air spa and massage for those who want to indulge in between yoga sessions.

Koh Samui

Koh Samui is a tropical Island in the South of Thailand overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. It is covered with dense jungle and has hidden beautiful beaches. It is easily accessible with flights from Bankok or directly from other locations in Asia such as Singapore. The venue is located a 20 minute drive from the airport.

Thailand is a friendly, welcoming and relatively safe country where the culture is imbued with Buddhism.

Room are allocated on a first come basis. They can all be single or shared with a yoga friend or partner.

To secure your place on the retreat, a $400 deposit is required. The remaining balance is due by April 1st, 2025.

Payment Policy:

A $400 deposit is payable upon application and fully refunded immediately if the retreat is full. Deposit are not refundable for any other reason

Full payment is due 4 months prior to departure on April 1st and participants agree to pay any outstanding balance no later than this date.

Any changes requested in accommodation will incur an added fee if the accommodation is more expensive.

I cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage of personal possessions or valuables of the customer.

Please inform me of any illnesses or injuries that may affect your participation on the retreat.

Students are responsible for organising flights to Samui. Also for all extra nights of accommodation, services such as massage and meals outside of group meals.

 

Waitlist policy

If the retreat is full, I can add your name to our waitlist upon request in writing,

If I able to confirm your place on retreat, I will contact you and full payment will be due immediately.

 

Refund policy

If the participant withdraws or transfers from the retreat, the following refund policy applies:

If the balance of the retreat fee is not received by the notified due date (4 months prior to retreat commencement), a participant’s place may be offered to someone on the waiting list. The participants will forfeit the deposit paid.

  1. a) If the participant withdraws 4 months or more prior to retreat commencement the participant will receive a full refund of all monies paid, minus the deposit.
  2. b) If the participant withdraws 4 months or less there will be no refund unless someone on the wait list takes your place. Then just the deposit is forfeit.
  3. e) If there is any natural disaster including the cancellation of flights or border closures or any political conflict which prevents the trip to Thailand only the yoga fee will be refunded. Travel and accommodation will need to be covered in full by your travel insurance. I am not liable for costs associated with this.
  4. f) If flights are delayed because of natural disaster all costs will be born by the participants.

 

The following conditions apply for International Retreats:

I will advise re visa and travel requirements, however it is your final responsibility to ensure your travel documents are in order.

As it is the requirement of most countries, please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months after return date.

I strongly advise that you have adequate travel insurance to include full cover for the duration of your journey. Although I offer full care, we cannot accept any responsibility if you choose not to cover yourself appropriately.

 

Use of Written and Photographic Material

Any written material provided to me in the form of feedback forms may be used by me for marketing purposes. Any photographs taken by us of attendees on our yoga classes or retreats may be used by the us for marketing purposes.

If you would prefer we do not use any of the above material written by you or containing your image it is your responsibility to advise me of this in a written document.

 

Meals

Meals are provided in Buffet Style at the Vikasa Life Restaurant. Brunch includes freshly squeezed juice, tea and coffee, eggs, a vegetable omelette, wholegrain toasts, oatmeal/ muesli with yogurt, or chia pudding, superfoods, veggies with specialty in-house organic dips, vegetarian sandwiches or pancakes, and a variety of fresh tropical fruits.

Dinner buffet may include hot soup, typical local dishes with tofu, brown rice, two or three vegetarian dishes, fresh salad, dahl, and the occasional seafood dish. For dessert we serve fruits and occasional local treats such as mango sticky rice.

Dietary restrictions are catered for.

There will be a small snack in between the first session Pranayama and asana at 8am 

Brunch 9.30 – 11.30am

Dinner 18.30 – 20.00pm

 

Schedule

Sunday 3rd please arrive in time for the first session at 4pm.

You can check in from 2pm or arrive earlier and leave your bags safely at reception while you explore the area.

Day 1

  • 4-6pm Asana -settling in

Day 2-5

  • 8-9am Pranayama
  • 9.30am brunch
  • 11am-1pm Asana
  • lunch
  • 5-6.30 Restorative

Final Day we finish by 12pm so that students can catch flights home.

Getting there

Depending on your flight it takes around 12 hours from Melbourne to Koh Samui via Bankok or Singapore. You fly to Samui airport and transfers can be arranged for around $30 one way. This maybe less if the transport is shared. If you would rather arrive the night before please let me know and I can organise it with the venue.

Cost and Bookings

What is included: Yoga classes, accommodation and food, welcome ceremony, bonfire on the beach.

What is not included: Transfers, extra nights accommodation before and after the retreat, food outside of brunch and dinner, massage, half day trip.

Who is the retreat for?

The retreat is open to all levels of students with 6 months of yoga experience.
