Yoga and Meditation Retreat on Bali
6 night 7 day retreat August 31st– September 6th 2024
In 2024 we will return to Life in Amed for the annual yoga and meditation retreat. The venue will be solely for our group for that week. The boutique venue offers ornate Balinese accommodation next to the black and white sand beach of Lean in the region of Karangasem in Eastern Bali. Tourism is still fairly minimal in Amed. You can lie on the beach which fringes the venue or nearby is a wonderful reef for snorkeling or diving, restaurants, cafes and massage. The feel is laid back but if you choose you can explore in the afternoon break. Life in Amed has an on site restaurant where they will prepare wonderful vegetarian meals for us and a bespoke yoga shala overlooking the sea.
Accommodation is in a choice of 6 double storied cottages surrounding a pool and tropical gardens, two large, airy villas with bedrooms up and downstairs and a view over the beach and an ornate perfumed garden house with 3 large rooms with ensuite with its own pool, gardens and facing the ocean. All accommodation has air conditioning but the yoga shala does not. I have calculated prices on twin share accommodation for each option. The cottages have a bedroom upstairs and downstairs with shared bath. There is room for privacy in each accommodation option with twin share. If you would like a private room please contact me for the cost.
The yoga shala is limited to 18 participants but you may want to invite a non participating partner along. Accommodation will be allotted with first come first serve.
A typical day
Rise at 6.30am
Pranayama and meditation at 7am
Breakfast 8am
Dynamic asana 9.30-11.30am
Free time
5-6.30pm Restorative asana
There will be a half day trip organised.

Accommodation and fees
The Perfumed garden
The Perfumed garden is a large airy beach house inspired by Javanese design with the rooms set around a central living room. The furniture is typical wooden Balinese with handmade tiles and furnishings. There is a small kitchen here. Each room has a large balcony which faces the ocean.
There are 3 large rooms with ensuites. 6 students can stay here.

The cottages
6 cottages surround a picturesque pool and gardens. There is a patio on each to sit outside. There is a king size bed downstairs and 2 twin beds upstairs and a shared bathroom.
Fee $1935 pp up to 12 students can stay here
Sari and Sunrise Villas
There two double story villas and beautifully designed in the Balinese style. Once villa has two bathrooms and the other has one. The villas face directly onto the beach and afford privacy as they are on the periphery of the venue.
Fee $2168pp up to 4 students can stay here.
Please purchase flights to Denpasar Bali. I will arrange transfers at midday. The journey to Amed takes about 4 hours. You may want to arrive the night before and stay locally. The airport has ATMs as does Amed. You can also purchase a sim card here.
Passport & requirements:
To enter Bali your passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Indonesia, and you must carry proof of onward passage (either a return ticket or an onward ticket). CURRENTLY you must purchase a Visa on Arrival (for Australian Passport Holders). This is 500,000 IDR / $50 AUD.
You must also complete an electronic customs declaration 3 days prior to travel, then present the QR code on arrival

Terms and Conditions for the retreats
Payment Policy:
A $400 deposit is payable upon application and fully refunded immediately if the retreat is full.
Full payment is due eight weeks prior to departure, July 1st and participants agree to pay any outstanding balance no later than this date.
Any changes requested in accommodation will incur an added fee if the accommodation is more expensive.
I cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage of personal possessions or valuables of the customer.
Please inform me of any illnesses or injuries that may affect your participation on the retreat.
Waitlist policy
If the retreat is full, we can add your name to our waitlist upon request in writing,
If we’re able to confirm your place on retreat, we will contact you and full payment will be due immediately.
Refund policy
If the participant withdraws or transfers from the retreat, the following refund policy applies:
- If the balance of the retreat fee is not received by the notified due date (eight weeks prior to retreat commencement), a participant’s place may be offered to someone on the waiting list. The participants will forfeit the deposit paid.
- If the participant withdraws eight weeks or more prior to retreat commencement the participant will receive a full refund of all monies paid, minus an administration fee of $200.
- If the participant withdraws 6 weeks prior to the retreat commencement the participant will receive 75% of the full retreat fee, minus an administration fee of $300.
- If the participant withdraws 4 weeks prior to retreat commencement the participant will receive 50% of the full retreat fee, minus an administration fee of $200.
- If the participant withdraws less than 4 weeks prior to commencement or withdraws after the retreat commences, the full retreat fee is non-refundable.
- If there is a natural disaster including the cancellation of flights into Bali because of volcano activity only the yoga fee will be refunded. Travel and accommodation will need to be covered in full by your travel insurance. I am not liable for costs associated with this.
- If flights are delayed because of natural disaster all costs will be born by the participants
The following conditions apply for International Retreats:
I will advise re visa and travel requirements, however it is your final responsibility to ensure your travel documents are in order.
As it is the requirement of most countries, please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months after return date.
I strongly advise that you have adequate travel insurance to include full cover for the duration of your journey. Although I offer full care, we cannot accept any responsibility if you choose not to cover yourself appropriately.
Use of Written and Photographic Material
Any written material provided to me in the form of feedback forms may be used by me for marketing purposes. Any photographs taken by us of attendees on our yoga classes or retreats may be used by the us for marketing purposes.
If you would prefer we do not use any of the above material written by you or containing your image it is your responsibility to advise me of this in a written document.
I think that Vanessa planned all the sessions well and understood everyone’ s needs. Very diverse levels in group and Vanessa did well to meet all needs
I loved the yoga! getting to challenge myself every day and the great community feel- such a supportive and friendly group of people
